the story of Rosie Castrodge (4/4)

“Filthy rich king, I say,” said a pirate, after looting the treasure at a king’s burial. The pirate lord was happy to see that the captain’s map led to a shore of silver and gold.

“I hate to look you as a pris’ner, captain. The trasure is found. Name a reward..?”

“Give back my ship..”

“Why in the right mind hence I do that? It ain’t a worthy talk.”

Both of them know that these negotiations won’t bear anything,

After the pirate left,

“Suffer your senses to listen, Rosie. You’ll regret to miss it.” captain says to the queen.

For the first few days, it was said to be a rum celebration of victory. After a few nights have passed, the thoughts of men became alone. When the desire of more is possible, the stories kept rising.

One man said to be drowned in the sea, searching for his golden ring and the other claimed the man’s share of treasure…

One man almost filled his lungs with rum, was too excited to be alive and the other claimed…

The triumph of being an ‘other’ went on…

It went far to which the crew can no longer control the sail of the ship,

“The night killing us all. Your ship is c’rsed, captain.”

When the two lords are busy at plans,

The queen was left alone with the traitor. She didn’t give a proper look ever since the incident.

“You hear that captain made me do it, right?” said the traitor.

“Yes, Indeed.”

“Then why you hate me..”

“Over him. At least he has an honor for his ship.”

With captain’s help, boat stirred along the wind to find a dry land.

“The ghost crew is real.” she said, looking at their ship.

“Hear me… No matter how many good hearts you see, there are very less of them who can resist the lustrous desires.”

“Aye, captain.” said the queen.

the story of Rosie Castrodge (2/4)

The tranquility of ocean is often shattered, grasping shouts of the dead. Patience to listen to their tales gave her a cold heart. Swings of the boat are only due to the lively moment of humans on it.

“A few nights from now” he paused,”I’d be talking to your grave If only I haven’t rescued you,” Robert said to Rosie.

She looked away into the endless ocean. She had lived a month in a place where nothing seems to be predictable.

Seeking to end the nervous inhales, he continued.

“ I didn’t know the reason to risk my life on you. It may or may not be love that provoked me, but I just find no harm to help you.”

After a long pause,

“Any destination on thought ?”

“I reckon to see a trade ship by sunrise. We shall get on to find a dry land”

After an hour of silence, it took no further to fall asleep.

His hand made the comfort to hold the firm grip of his blade. Her beauty held him for few minutes of thought, but he couldn’t forgo the captain’s order,

“Kill the queen outside my ship so that it may not bear a curse.”

He kissed her and found no resistance. He shifted the blade in his hand to take one good strike. The sudden shift of climate took him by surprise,

“Mercy..” he said, gaping at the enormous monster.

The storm hit them with a great force.

#how I found ‘Captains courageous’

We always feel lucky to see the part of the world that inspires us.

I must say that I am quite grateful to breathe and see the works of David Fincher. Maybe he has captured every situation of our lives.

I happened to rush down four stairs of our office building on the evening of July the 12th. As the memory pushed me to remember my forgotten charger, I have no chance but to climb the stairs. It took another half an hour as my boss insisted on listening to his brilliant idea. As I have an enough comfort to leave the building,

Poets would have described the evening as calm as still water until it went cats and dogs. It came to a halt only to show me that I had no money in my pockets. I walked to the nearest ATM and as it was a late evening, it consists of notes worth two thousand rupees. My eyes left the calm mood and began to find a way to get enough money for bus fare. It found the nearest bookstore midst the soaking weather,

“What do you want, brother..?” A young man asked, only after he removed his headset.

“Uh…That book” directed to the extreme left.

The shopkeeper gave a smile at the two thousand rupee note in my hand for a book worth about fifty rupees.

“You could’ve asked for a change,..” he said to me while I was leaving the store.

That is how I’ve got Rudyard Kipling’s Captain’s Courageous and the currency notes suitable for my bus fare…

Only If I haven’t forgotten the charger,

Only If the ATM had one more hundred currency left,

Only If I haven’t had an impression that no one would give me a change for two thousand rupee note,

Only If I haven’t been kind to offer thirty rupees to a beggar on the morning run,

I wouldn’t have got the book.

It is an exact replica of a scene from the 2008 movie named ‘The curious case of Benjamin Button’ directed by David Fincher.

The book isn’t the greatest read but the process is…

To think of various perceptions and get to know the importance of every moment…

I began to think that it might be how I’ve started to write quarterly stories.

the sid’s narration (4/4)

Not often did the judge took time to personal appearances,

“I know, friend. The bill got me lucky .” said the judge over his phone.

The bill has been passed to make live coverage of court rulings on the request of people. Ninety-five percent of curious people say ‘aye’ to watch jury on the recent bomb attack. While the Sid walked into his house with a sheet of paper,

“Where have you been..?” asked his mother.

Pretending to be deaf, he increased the television volume.

“There he comes,..”

As the judge never liked his fat image in the mirror, he relayed his trust on good expressions.

The boss was the only man who stood lifeless in custody. The case was pretty strong against them. while the defense claims,

The thin man was delusional and …

Really, how often does that happen? Boss began to enjoy his thoughts.

The woman heard a lot of stories from him.

Few thousand bucks will make her write a novel.

“Yeah, I know he’s crazy. One day, he comes running and say, he was once a gladiator.” trying to look natural with her sheepish accent.

Why would anyone want this? who is my client? A client who can profit from everything…

His thoughts were interrupted by the next witness,

“How did you find the clip..?” Prosecutor asks the reporter.

“My husband…” She wiped her eyes, continues “ he was having an affair..” She made sure to get the attention.

Goddamn theatrics.

An unfortunate stream of thought led the boss to grin.

“Do you mean to insult the court ?” Judge stares at the boss.

The young Sid realized that his entire family was gathered to watch the ruling. While he was walking to his bedroom, he overheard a conversation,

“I would regret if I’ve missed any of it.”

“Yeah. The bill made it happen.”

“The bill, huh… I think the government has made a great decision before the election.”

The young Sid hold the paper and thought about how it landed on his own terrace. It might have produced a silly grin on Sid’s face but the euphoria of chasing his goal will prove to be everlasting.

the sid’s narration (3/4)

“The massive suspected terrorist attack held several dead, yet the identities…” The radio shuttered due to lost signal in a four seated Cherokee.

The 27-year-old thought about those hand-picked victims for the operation,

“Bunch of douche bags,”

The oldest never imagined riding in a 2001 model car,

“Can’t you drive any faster, boy.” Mimicking his boss words, ‘You’ll keep low a profile.’Hell does that mean ?”

While the thin man was steering with a thought of woman at home, the boss says,

“It means not to shit bed while you’re out open..”

The audio clip went viral with an #eviltalk, claiming a conversation between a criminal and his affair.

“ It was your boy who did that..”

The thin man knows that he would be dead if only the boss weren’t his cousin.

“Enough..” said the boss, who orchestrated the entire plot.

It is not more than a week that he took a contract. He got the cliche reply of ‘someone wants it done’ for his question about the reason.

The part of his plan was to gather 12 dead bodies from the mortuary to place at the arena. He final words before the act were,

“Even if anyone gets caught, just remember that no one killed no one. Everyone stays innocent.” and ends up saying,” Make sure the contract to be intact.”

Frankly, he was bit disappointed to get a byproduct for his plan.

“Where is the woman..?” he asked, facing the thin man.

“Who..?”.

“The one you’ve hooked up with, boy..”

“I don’t know.”

Not a second has passed to let a familiar voice from the radio,

“I.. Now that I know that he’s a criminal, I can’t…” tension was stung by woman’s voice.

“We understand. Can you tell more about your conversation with him..?” The reporter asked.

“Yeah.,” She took an effortless breath, “He said that the victims are not alive even before the blast.”

The nightmare of thin man came alive and began to gather terrifying looks from the people around him. The sight of young Sid running across the road made his quivering hands to lose control on steering.

“I love you,” They said to each other but neither did they mean it.

It is meant to be a sound of comfort to claim a happy life.

She went out of the bed to attend a phone call.

After a few minutes,

“What is it? ” asked her husband, seeing the sudden shift of urgency.

“There seems to be an attack. I have to go…” her reporter’s voice came alive.

“Shall I drop you..?” he asked to make certain of his plans.

“No.. I’ll be fine.”

While she was driving away, he swiped a phone number.

“Hello, angel. Are you…” the unusual calmness of her startled him, “Are you alright ?”.

“Yeah. Just had a rough day.” Her voice made him think of their rough nights.

“I want…”

In an instant, Sid crashed with the woman on the other end.

She cursed the kid and when she picked her phone from the ground, it went blank.

“Nasty kids..” she turned to her left only to find a thin man staring,

“You moron, where have you been hiding..? you even made my life miserable,..” she began to sob,

“Wait, what happened..? ”

“Police questioned me for your ass. Said that you’ve involved in some bomb bullshit. Whatever, my clients…” She stopped at seeing a hint of nervousness in his face.

“You know…?”

“What..No way.” His expressions are not very hideous,

“You lying piece of…Get away from me.”

Neither of them knows that there was a keen ear on their conversation through her blank phone.

The news is too big for him. Even tougher to make a choice.

“Hi..You know, it’s goddamn mess on the streets. Anyway, you want to talk something..” the reporter said.

He began to say the news and anticipated a question even before she asked,

“How exactly do you know her..?”

He said the truth, seeking a lie would be too much to bear the guilt.

“Okay, Let’s help to catch them.” She said.

An impulse sparked at his spinal as ‘Okay’ in her voice was terrifying.

Holidays were not going along with the sid’s imagination. It only took first three days to prove him wrong. It was an ad commercial that finally got his nerve,

“Use our new germ-tech toothbrush to see and era…”

As he was walking away,

“Do you want to buy one, Sid? ” His mother asked casually.

“That one…” Pointing to the ad, “Why would I want to see my own germs on my smartphone..?”

“Maybe a 9-year-old can brush more..”

“Weird inventions… Why are they so aimless ?”

“Look at who is talking….” His mother smiled, “ Ask it yourself.”

To his surprise, he didn’t get a reply.

He went for a walk and bought some crayons.

An hour passed,

It was same paper as before except for…

It might be a god’s idea to sent a gush of air to elope the paper from the sid’s lap.His second thought was to let it go, but the first reminded him of his hour’s treasure.

He ran. Almost slipped, crashed but never got the paper off-sight.Unknowingly, sid’s narration for his run started a chain reaction.

He smiled when the thought of both having enough time to roam around crossed his mind.

Midst the pollution, he could see the date written on the piece of paper.

“20/03/2020”.

#My curious case of life

It’s been a while I haven’t thought about what I did…

In brief, rejecting an offer of 3.5 CTC from a major IT company, I have joined a start-up on an average stipend. Being a mechanical engineering, I don’t see any interest to waste precious life for another two years to get a car and to be on a hunt for nothing. It is said that a 21-year old should take advice from elder people.

I honestly contradict it.

Often I saw many furious voices asking about what my plans were for the next ten years. After a few lectures, I realized that they have a most pathetic view on life. They have lived decades of life,  while sat before me with utmost pride of achievement and claim to have a pocket full of money, whatsoever with no integrity, waiting to enjoy at some point in their life, their innocence of belief on death as only comes at an old age perplexed me.

One of them has a bald head along with a bulging stomach, claims that he had two sons and that they are his achievements. One of them tried to convince me that I will be one percent successful if I follow the other way. And more interestingly, he said that they would be very happy if I succeed.

On June 13th,  2017

I have got an internship at a startup as a content writer. I was decided to make savings for a solo trip to Kerala.

the baited thought (2/4)

The early hours of these days are much alike with a little variation in the weather conditions. It is a fact that the humidity causes irritation.

“Why should I buy you gloves every day ? ” he paused to remember something, “Don’t your university provide one ?”

“There is a say that the empty mind can be a good hand. I do need a good luck, don’t I ?” his sister teased.

After a bit of negotiation, he took a walk onto the street.

As the regular shop was closed, he cursed the fate to walk an extra mile. The cursed fate avenged with a mud water splashing on his face on the behalf of a car speeding ahead. With a few steps ahead of the shop, he decided to buy the gloves and washed his face.

“Why are you late ?” his mother asks for a reason.

“perhaps ‘for who’ is the right question..”

“Stop…”

“Maybe he’s around to say hello to someone special…”

She knows who it is, yet to see her brother nervous make her happy.

Without any comments, he left home for a walk.

A stern voice startled him,

“Are you Rastogi..?” a policeman questioned.

I was made to sit in an empty room behind a desk. Few murmurs from a glass wall and a camera made to think of him as a witness for an interrogation. He was not proven wrong until a casual questionnaire turned into a debate and,

“Why did you do the theft ?”

With the aid of his memory, he quoted every happening of the past few days with the approximation by minutes. After an hour, they let him go and advised to stay in sight.

It was too hard for a Sherlockian spirit to leave a crime scene.

“ but I know a friend who said that he saw them….”

“Where?” eyes of the middle-aged stout man brightened, unlike the usual dull face went on a display for more than an hour.

“On crime.”

“Who is your friend?”  he began to note down.

“Unless I join you to find them..”

“Look, son…This is no game to start sliding with us. Now, tell me about your friend or I see you in court..”

Here is a puzzle to the boy. He knows that this is his last chance to call his bluff and get on with his life.

“My friend is very persuasive in authoring a tale..”

“A lie..?”

“Depends on how you propose, sir”

“Alright, I had enough of this… why is that grin..?”

“I know what this case made of, sir. I know every corner of our street. Your two-month operation leads to a dead end…right towards me. Besides, what do you lose…?”

The courage of the boy made it as a reasonable offer. The officer took a closer look at the boy,

“Get out. Too many are watching us…”

the edges of a Rubik’s cube (4/4)

The engine of Chevrolet styleline Deluxe began to roar on a comfort of royalty. They were on the site of a Cherokee. Rastogi can’t console his heart and went on to say,

“Let’s do this”.

After a few minutes of the drive, a thud sound echoed from the tire and car hit the divider of the road.

“Is it the bomb?” Rishaan asked Carl.

“Yes,” Carl said, without any hesitation in his mind.

Rastogi stopped the car and ran towards the Chevrolet.  In a disfigured car, he saw three people groaning at the pain.

Kiara looked over to the Rastogi with a little consciousness.

“You…aliv.. “Kiara managed to get words. “Help…Plea”

“You leave me no choice, dear. If either of us have any patience on belief towards love, this wouldn’t have happened. “Rastogi said, as most of his voice is in pain.

Diya stopped to groan and Rastogi knows what happened.

“You motherfucker, I should have choked you to death rather than pushing you off ” Sanjay made his rat cry.

“You didn’t. but I can, “.

Rastogi left the spot as he smelled the petrol sprouting outside the tank. Without turning back, he left away in Cherokee.

This is the story of an old man who told me while we are traveling for a place. A very long journey indeed. I saw the most brutal men than him but something in him was much cruel. I asked him after his narration,

“Why?”

“Love… If either of us has any patience towards the belief in love, that wouldn’t have happened. It can destroy. I could have left her to live but I can’t do that. I loved her in a way that I ought to the only person to show her the otherwise. That’s what I regretted every day for not to be cautious.”

Not many people that I have met confessed. After all, I need to do my job irrespective of their stories. People often used to wonder about me. Wonder about how I could sustain in an evil life. Answer is simple and easy,

“I don’t have a soul to love.”

I am the other side of life…

I could see a screen which is considered to be a Rastogi’s heart-beat. He is in a place where I often used to come.

“ How do you feel to be alive? ”

“Life is an endless space of emotions. Yet it felt to be on the edge. To jump onto edges as a sane conclusion, like a Rubik’s cube…”

Within minutes screen went blank, which is an indication of the end.

Never experiencing the love in my life, it felt to be a sacred thing to earn it. A cautious thing as hatred, caused by love is a lethal weapon that there is no control for.
