the true heir (1/4)

The 21-year old didn’t hesitate to take an extra glass of alcohol.

“College is an addiction, isn’t it?” he let his sharp voice to spread evenly among his friends.  It was on a twilight day that the three graduates decide to share their happiness.

“Just half a glass and now, he is on…” Said the other, with a chuckle.

“Addiction…Huh?” she finally asked, submitting to the temptation.

“Don’t encourage him.”

“Come on, let’s play a game. Explain it to us and if you can’t convince…” As she struck with words to fall out,

“Convince you. I don’t need to.” He continued, “Let’s make a toast.”

“Before anything, I would like to suggest you something…” his friend continued, “I know you want to be a writer. I know your knowledge to reform make you say crazy. Remember, we live in a crazy world where neither is ambitious nor encouraging. The system was always corrupted and people who would try probably end in a bad shape. I know your rush as hormones at this age but….”

His friend changed his posture and continued,” I once knew a friend very much like the passion of yours. An exact same ambition yet he isn’t wise enough to take my advice. He went around raising his collar to find his goals and now, you won’t believe me the position he’s in. He finally said that I am right. I am not saying that as a victory to me, but it’s just a good foresight. Everyone isn’t aimless, look at our friend…” he pointed his hand to her.

“Don’t bring my reasons…”

“No. It’s not an embarrassment to make a right choice. Besides, who am I to judge you. I am not offending you, my friend. But you must be able to grasp the reality of the situation. And for the toast,

‘To us for making money’.” said his friend.

“Fancy that…” she said, clipping their glasses.

The third one finally raised his glass and said,

“Sure.”

the boy with one shoe (4/4)

…in the forest. The police searched the area and arrested a few suspects. There was a group of five people along with a boy of mid-twenties caught while hunting the wild animals. Everyone wondered how an undercover drug operation could’ve failed to catch a single accused…

…a bank at five in the evening. A group of four people disguised in uniforms barged into the bank and called for an emergency evacuation for the people. One of the victims said,

“City is going to drown, they shouted. All we could hear was the hustle of horns and a lot of chaos on the streets. They said that they are providing a transport. I didn’t know that they are going to rob us on…” She reported the heist as utterly inhumane and could be considered as worst times…

…report on the accident stats that fifty people were injured and several of them were in critical condition. Among them were a boy and a couple who seem to undergo a surgery in two days…

“For us…” the young man offered a toast to the boy. He knew that the plans of the boy were flawless. It seems like a riddle for the cops easy enough to solve, yet none could think of the original plot. The boy offers the distraction and everyone finds it comfortable.

“Boss wanted to see you.” he continued, “Congratulations…”

He never heard the boy speak in a sentence.

After two and half years,

….skills took this classy entrepreneur to new heights. An orphan who recently became popular as Steve Jobs. Jr after his talk at Ted-talks. Even though he didn’t have much…

….The people of his village gave a lavish welcome to the young Jobs, and some went on to say that they were very proud of his achievements. One of the leaders in the village said,

“I always know that there was something different in the boy. I gave him the money and showed him the destiny.”

“he always wear one shoe and I didn’t forget his look when I bought him an another,” said a villager…

The boy as ever displayed a deaf-ear to their whispers and walked towards the church. He learned that the father passed away due to intestinal cancer.

He sat on his favorite chair and flipped a shoe of his leg.

“How lovely a day could you expect…”

the boy with one shoe (1/4)

In an hour of silence, the boy had a reputation to hear the distinct whisper of crickets and even his own heartbeat. He was known to pass his time at the entrance of a church. Only a few know that he also listen to the confessions while the father is away.

“Father, I had a relation….” said one.

“I didn’t know what to do..” said an another.

“I killed that…” continued another,”It gave me peace to do…”

Father is a very generous man to give the young kid an old suit and some money to attend his appetite. Everyone is happy as long as the people find it easy to travel few miles to attend.

“Mama, why is he wearing only one shoe…?” asked a nine-year-old girl.

The life of the boy was regarded as a fancy tale across the village.

While some use them as examples,

“If you didn’t go to school, you will become as Ali at the church…”

“I will ask Ali to take you way, if…”

“You are no better than Ali, I suppose…”

Some use them at church,

“What’s the matter with the boy? Why does he wrap a cloth around one leg? Is he missing a foot…?”

“Some say that he keeps his savings inside the wrapped cloth…”

“You know about the theft in the neighborhood, right…?”

“It may be done by someone who carefully watches us, Don’t you all think…?”

Yet,

The boy never gets those fancy talks to disturb his daily schedule.

The day came when the villagers no longer can tolerate the simple life of the boy…

the tale of a blue bulb (2/4)

The two friends meet at a coffee shop,

“The other day I heard about your shiny tie. You wanna talk about it? ” the other one didn’t say anything.

“I am your friend and perhaps, the only one. Tell me your next step.”

“What step..?”

“Are you kidding… Talk is that you are the guy who can talk to ghosts. They made you a local hero.”

“So..?”

“I don’t know. May be create a twitter account that says,” he changed the tone and said,”I am a ghostly reader…”

“Is that supposed to be funny ?”

“Is it not? you tell me. You’re the one who is screwing everyone with a fake story”

“It ain’t that and I need your help.”

“For what ?”

“We’re going to rob them.”

The rumors are incredible. Despite the search for truth, they pass along the thick walls made of concrete to every possible ear and into the voices of every desperate person. It took only three days to the owner to call the security guard. First thing he said,

“Do you think that I am a good man…?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Good. Then why do you want to turn me into the other one ?”

“The green one.”

“Are you mocking me, boy. Your as…”

“I’m sorry but you can’t fire me, sir.”

“Why the hell is that…?”

“We both know that no one would come to watch over a mirrors place.”

It was the truth that made the owner call him, in spite of firing him.

“What in the god’s name do you want…?”

“I have a plan and you don’t need to be a good man to hear that.

He felt the jerks more often, and an instant realization frightened him as he was supposed to be the driver an hour ago…
His eyes are heavy and upon some consistent attempts,
It captured the sight of being in an ambulance, with his nerve pinned to the bottle of chemicals.
“Take it easy, sir.” Said a young man in a white jacket, “Your wife is here.” He followed and saw a lady to whom he offered a ride not more than an hour ago…
“Darling, Don’t worry…”
He tried to move but discovers it as a dumb notion to control his body. They are weak and drugged.
After a few minutes later, Aspirin took his vain to an another reality. He woke up and saw an elderly woman standing in front of him,
“Hello, sir…” She introduced herself, ” Remember me…?”,
“Of course, Doc… You look old,” He said in relief, “I had a terrible dream and I thought to visit you.I..uhh…”
“Yeah, You did…” He saw a concern in her face,
“Do you trust me…?”
“Is it one of your mind games,..?”
“Supposedly,”
“I do…”
“What if I say, you’ve forgotten ten years of your life ” She paused, “and you’ve got a wife and two children…”
“Doc, How could….” He remembered that she never wastes time on jokes.”Which year is it ?” He asks after a brief moment.
“2030”

Three passengers took the comfort of Mercedes.

After a while,

“Forgive me but, could you tell what we’re waiting for..?” she asked the driver.

“Apparently for the other one who left the car…”

“Who did..?”

“No offense but, he looks a bit sane than you…”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. There is no other than us in this car.”

He bet to see any hint of laughter in her expressions but there were none for a while.

“You never saw anyone. An elder man with a gray suit talking to me..”

“No, I thought you were on a call.”

He looked around to observe the situation,

“The book…” He said in relief, “It’s real and he brought it.”

“You sure he bought it..?”

“Enough of this stupidity… I don’t care if he’s real or not. Let us go…”

But he never left the ‘idea of ghost’. Until now, he felt the comfort of a sole creation of tricks transformed into enticing stories. It was a rather frustrating for him to be an actor than a writer. He says that supernatural forces are too comical to be true. Though it contradicts his consciousness, he tried to convince himself of having hallucinations

Meanwhile, she typed on his iPhone…

“We’re moving…”

the writer and a virgin god (1/4)

After a busy month, a young man decided to take a vacation. Everyone said that he deserves one. He felt proud to be the one who’s trending…Along the coast of foreign water, he kept humming at ‘backstreet boys’ in a Mercedes.
After a few songs,
His eye caught the man in a gray suit holding ‘Need a ride’ in one hand and wouldn’t have stopped only if the other hand is empty.
“Hop in…”
In the moment of the first gear,
“You’re one-hundredth ride, man,” said the voice in the gray suit.
“Good to know…”
He said his name and was in a queue to listen to the other…
“Turn the book in your hand…”
He did and found the face of driver in author’s column.
“Unbelievable… You…It’s an honor, sir”
“Pleasure… How’d you like it..?”
“No, I just started to read.”
His compliments now seem to be a mere sarcastic…
“So, did you find him…?”
“Excuse me..” said the driver.
“I mean your book, ‘looking for god’. Did you find him in the end..?”
“No one can find him. It is…” he turned, “said that a person must make his own endeavor to make it happen…”
“Well…I must say that as an honest answer. I just have one question..?”
“Yeah..”
“How the hell did you write a pure fiction of 1000 pages, sir..?”
They laughed,
“Well… It was a product of 52 weeks and a publicity of high interests.”
“Along a catchy title, I think”
They rode along the national highway as per a clear plan of one than the other.

the story of Rosie Castrodge (4/4)

“Filthy rich king, I say,” said a pirate, after looting the treasure at a king’s burial. The pirate lord was happy to see that the captain’s map led to a shore of silver and gold.

“I hate to look you as a pris’ner, captain. The trasure is found. Name a reward..?”

“Give back my ship..”

“Why in the right mind hence I do that? It ain’t a worthy talk.”

Both of them know that these negotiations won’t bear anything,

After the pirate left,

“Suffer your senses to listen, Rosie. You’ll regret to miss it.” captain says to the queen.

For the first few days, it was said to be a rum celebration of victory. After a few nights have passed, the thoughts of men became alone. When the desire of more is possible, the stories kept rising.

One man said to be drowned in the sea, searching for his golden ring and the other claimed the man’s share of treasure…

One man almost filled his lungs with rum, was too excited to be alive and the other claimed…

The triumph of being an ‘other’ went on…

It went far to which the crew can no longer control the sail of the ship,

“The night killing us all. Your ship is c’rsed, captain.”

When the two lords are busy at plans,

The queen was left alone with the traitor. She didn’t give a proper look ever since the incident.

“You hear that captain made me do it, right?” said the traitor.

“Yes, Indeed.”

“Then why you hate me..”

“Over him. At least he has an honor for his ship.”

With captain’s help, boat stirred along the wind to find a dry land.

“The ghost crew is real.” she said, looking at their ship.

“Hear me… No matter how many good hearts you see, there are very less of them who can resist the lustrous desires.”

“Aye, captain.” said the queen.

the story of Rosie Castrodge (2/4)

The tranquility of ocean is often shattered, grasping shouts of the dead. Patience to listen to their tales gave her a cold heart. Swings of the boat are only due to the lively moment of humans on it.

“A few nights from now” he paused,”I’d be talking to your grave If only I haven’t rescued you,” Robert said to Rosie.

She looked away into the endless ocean. She had lived a month in a place where nothing seems to be predictable.

Seeking to end the nervous inhales, he continued.

“ I didn’t know the reason to risk my life on you. It may or may not be love that provoked me, but I just find no harm to help you.”

After a long pause,

“Any destination on thought ?”

“I reckon to see a trade ship by sunrise. We shall get on to find a dry land”

After an hour of silence, it took no further to fall asleep.

His hand made the comfort to hold the firm grip of his blade. Her beauty held him for few minutes of thought, but he couldn’t forgo the captain’s order,

“Kill the queen outside my ship so that it may not bear a curse.”

He kissed her and found no resistance. He shifted the blade in his hand to take one good strike. The sudden shift of climate took him by surprise,

“Mercy..” he said, gaping at the enormous monster.

The storm hit them with a great force.

#how I found ‘Captains courageous’

We always feel lucky to see the part of the world that inspires us.

I must say that I am quite grateful to breathe and see the works of David Fincher. Maybe he has captured every situation of our lives.

I happened to rush down four stairs of our office building on the evening of July the 12th. As the memory pushed me to remember my forgotten charger, I have no chance but to climb the stairs. It took another half an hour as my boss insisted on listening to his brilliant idea. As I have an enough comfort to leave the building,

Poets would have described the evening as calm as still water until it went cats and dogs. It came to a halt only to show me that I had no money in my pockets. I walked to the nearest ATM and as it was a late evening, it consists of notes worth two thousand rupees. My eyes left the calm mood and began to find a way to get enough money for bus fare. It found the nearest bookstore midst the soaking weather,

“What do you want, brother..?” A young man asked, only after he removed his headset.

“Uh…That book” directed to the extreme left.

The shopkeeper gave a smile at the two thousand rupee note in my hand for a book worth about fifty rupees.

“You could’ve asked for a change,..” he said to me while I was leaving the store.

That is how I’ve got Rudyard Kipling’s Captain’s Courageous and the currency notes suitable for my bus fare…

Only If I haven’t forgotten the charger,

Only If the ATM had one more hundred currency left,

Only If I haven’t had an impression that no one would give me a change for two thousand rupee note,

Only If I haven’t been kind to offer thirty rupees to a beggar on the morning run,

I wouldn’t have got the book.

It is an exact replica of a scene from the 2008 movie named ‘The curious case of Benjamin Button’ directed by David Fincher.

The book isn’t the greatest read but the process is…

To think of various perceptions and get to know the importance of every moment…

I began to think that it might be how I’ve started to write quarterly stories.
